7th Pay Commission – Five Directors Generals of Paramilitary Forces Met the Home Minister

A number of paramilitary chiefs today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in order to present their proposals and demands vis-a-vis the forthcoming implementations of the 7th Pay Commission.

7th Pay Commission – Five Directors Generals of Paramilitary Forces Met the Home Minister – The government in January had set up a high powered panel headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha to process the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.

A number of paramilitary chiefs today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in order to present their proposals and demands vis-a-vis the forthcoming implementations of the 7th Pay Commission.

Five Directors General (DGs), including Krishna Chaudhary (ITBP), K Durga Prasad (CRPF), Archana Ramasundaram (SSB), Surender Singh (CISF) and O P Singh (NDRF), met the Minister at his office in South Block here and presented a memorandum to him.

The government in January had set up a high-powered panel headed by Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha to process the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission which will have a bearing on the remuneration of 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners.

The Empowered Committee of Secretaries will function as a Screening Committee to process the recommendations with regard to all relevant factors of the Commission in an expeditious detailed and holistic fashion.

“A proposal for grant of PMSP to Central Armed Police Force at par with Army personnel has been referred to the 7th Central Pay Commission. vide MHA O.M. dated 05.11.2014. The rate of Para Military Service Pay requested is @ Rs. 2,000/- per month to Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR) and Rs.6,000/- per month to officers upto Dy. Inspector General of Police rank, based on the rates of Military Service Pay.”

Para Military Service pay only under consideration not OROP – Minister said in Parliament

While answering to a question in Parliament today (22.7.2015) on the demand of OROP to Paramilitary Forces, the Minister of State for Home Affairs said there is no proposal under consideration by the Ministry.

Demand of One Rank One Pension by paramilitary forces

There have been some requests demanding One Rank One Pension on the line of demand in Defence Forces. There is no proposal under consideration of the Ministry on the issue.
Proposals regarding granting of Para Military Service pay and enhancement of casual leave at par with Army have been received in this Ministry. The same have been referred to the 7th Central Pay Commission for consideration.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in a written reply to a question by Smt. Rajani Patil and Shri A.K. Selvaraj in the Rajya Sabha today.

Special Pay for Paramilitary Personnel at PAR with Army

As informed by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR), the detail of strength of CAPFs and AR is as under:

A proposal for grant of Para Military Service Pay (PMSP) to Central Armed Police Force personnel at par with Army personnel has been referred to the 7th Central Pay Commission vide MHA O.M. dated 05.11.2014. The rate of Para Military Service Pay requested is @ Rs. 2,000/- per month to Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR) and Rs.6,000/- per month to officers upto Dy. Inspector General of Police rank, based on the rates of Military Service Pay. State Armed Police Forces are under the administrative control of State Governments. As such, present proposal does not include State Armed Police Forces.
