Dear Sir/ Madam,

Dearness Allowance for Workmen and Officer Employees in banks for the months of May, June & July 2020 under X BPS/ Joint Note dated 25.5.2015
The confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (Base1960=100) for the quarter ended March 2020 are as follows:-
January 2020 – 7532.55
February 2020 – 7486.90
March 2020 – 7441.24
The average CPI of the above is 7486.90 and accordingly the number of DA slabs are 761 (7486 – 4440= 3046/4= 761 Slabs) The last quarterly Payment of DA was at 759 Slabs. Hence there is an increase in DA slabs of 2 i.e. 761 Slabs for payment of DA for the quarter May, June & July 2020
In terms of clause 7 of the 10th Bipartite Settlement dated 25.05.2015 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 25.05.2015, the rate of Dearness Allowance payable to workmen and officer employees for the months of May, June & July 2020 shall be 76.10 % of ‘pay’. While arriving at dearness allowance payable, decimals from third place may please be ignored.

Dearness Allowance for Workmen and Officer Employees in banks for the months of February, March & April 2019 under X BPS/ Joint Note dated 25.5.2015

The confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (Base 1960-100) for the quarter ended December 2018 are as follows:-
  • October 2018 - 6893.42
  • November 2018 - 6893.42
  • December 2018 - 6870.60
The average CPI of the above is 6885 and accordingly the number of DA slabs are 611 (6885-4440= 2445/4= 611 Slabs) The last quarterly Payment of DA was at 607 Slabs. Hence there is a increase in DA slabs of 4, i.e 611 Slabs for payment of DA for the quarter February, March & April 2019
In terms of clause 7 of the 10th Bipartite Settlement dated 25.05.2015 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 25.05.2015, the rate of Dearness Allowance payable to workmen and officer employees for the months of February, March & April 2019 shall be 61.10 % of 'pay'. While arriving at dearness allowance payable, decimals from third place may please be ignored.

Dearness Allowance for Workmen and Officer Employees in banks for the months of November, December and January 2016 under X BPS/ Joint Note dated 25.5.2015

The confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (Base 1960=100) for the quarter ended June 2015 are as follows:-
July, 2015 – 6003.21
August, 2015 – 6026.04
September, 2015 – 6071.69
The average CPI of the above is 6033. Consequently, Dearness Allowance payable to employees is for 398 slabs for the period November, December 2015 and January 2016 i.e. an increase of 34 slabs over the current level.

In terms of clause 7 of the 10th Bipartite Settlement dated 25.05.2015 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 25.05.2015, the rate of Dearness Allowance payable to workmen and officer employees for the months of November, December 2015 and January 2016 shall be 39.80% of ‘pay’. While arriving at dearness allowance payable, decimals from third place may please be ignored.

We advise banks to pay the difference between the old and revised salary and allowance to officers on an ad hoc basis, pending amendments to Officers’ Service Regulations.

PS : The DA Payable under IXth Bipartite Settlement/Joint Note dated 27.04.2010, is @ [119.85% (6033-2836)=3197/4] i.e 799 slabs @ 0.15% per slab).

Projected DA From November 2014

Projected DA slabs 49 (7.35%) for Nov-14 to Jan-15

CPI for the month of August 2014 has been announced as 5774.95(253) on 30.09.2014. Earlier CPI for the month of July 2014 was announced as 5752.12(252).

The DA slabs payable for the period of Nov 2014 – Jan 2015 is based on the average increase of CPI for the month of July 2014 to September 2014. On assumptions of CPI data if it would remain same for the months of September 2014 as of August 2014 (i.e. 5774.95);

The expected (tentatively) increase in DA Slabs comes to 49 AND in terms of percentage the increase of DA is 7.35% for the month of Nov 2014 – Jan 2015.

Accordingly, the total 732 revised DA slabs i.e. 109.80% DA are expected (tentatively) would become payable for the period of Nov. 2014 – Jan 2015.

Please note that it is only tentative number of DA slabs assessed for the quarter Nov 2014 – Jan 2015 based on assumptions of CPI as mentioned above.  The increase in DA slabs for the quarter Nov 2014 – Jan 2015 shall be recalculated on the basis of CPI data that would be announced at the end of Oct. 2014

Dear Sirs,

Dearness Allowance for Workmen and Officer Employees in banks for the months of August, September & October 2014 under IX BPS/Joint Note dt. 27.4.10

The confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (Base 1960=100) for the quarter ended June 2014 are as follows:-

Apr 2014 5523.87
May 2014 5569.52
Jun 2014 5615.17
The average CPI of the above is 5569.52.

The DA paid for the quarter ended July 2014 was at CPI 5436.00. Hence, there is an increase in CPI of 133.52 points, i.e., increase of 33 slabs over the current level.

Consequently, dearness allowance to employees is payable for 683 slabs for the period August, September & October 2014 i.e. an increase of 33 slabs over the current level.

In terms of clause 7 of the 9th Bipartite Settlement dated 27.04.2010 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 27.04.2010, the rate of dearness allowance payable to workmen and officer employees for the months of August, September & October 2014 shall be 102.45% of ‘pay’. While arriving at dearness allowance payable, decimals from third place may please be ignored.

We advise banks to pay the difference between the old and revised salary and allowances to officers on an ad hoc basis, pending amendments to Officers’ Service Regulations.

33 SLABS INCREASE IN DA FOR BANK WORKMEN/OFFICERS FOR AUGUST SEPT AND OCT’14 QUARTER

Labour Bureau,Ministry of Labour and Employment,Govt.of India, has released All India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers ,Base 2001=100 for the month of June’14,today which stood at 246 points with an increase of 2 points while compared to May figure.

Thus the confirmed All India average CPI(IW) 1960=100 for the quarter would be 5569.52.As such there will be 33 slabs increase in DA for bank Staff at 102.45 % (as against 97.50% in previous quarter with 4 .95% increase)as per details furnished here under:

Labour Bureau,Ministry of Labour and Employment,Govt.of India, has released All India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers ,Base 2001=100 for the month of May’14,today which stood at 244 points with an increase of 2 points while compared to April figure. ( There was a decrease of 16 slabs during last quarter )

Based on the confirmed AICPIN for April and May and assuming that index number for June may continued on same level , in tune with present inflationary trend , the DA for Bank Employees/Officers for Aug, Sept & Oct may likely to show an increase of 29 slabs Or more as per details furnished here under:

Base Year 2001=100 1960=100
APRIL (confirmed) 242 5523.87
MAY( do) 244 5569.50
JUNE (Expected) 244 5569.52

Average index 5554
Less merged index(9thBPS) 2836
Slabs 2718/4 679
Increase (679-old 650) 29 slabs
@ 0.15% 101.85 % ( from existing 97.50% )

If AICPIN increase with one or two points there may have further increase in DA for next quarter.This is only assumption.

Kindly note that actual increase/decrease in DA can be arrived only on release of AICPIN for June in next month by Ministry.
